Environment

As a manufacturer, we are actively involved within our industry and with government regulating bodies as well as standards development and industry code organizations. Canplas has an ongoing commitment to protect our environment by adhering to the fundamentals of 3R programs (Recover, Recycle and Re-use) and through continual manufacturing process improvement.

Community Support

As a corporate citizen, Canplas gives back to the community by supporting a number of charitable organizations. Further, we encourage our employees to give back to the community as well through their own individual efforts.

United Way
Through corporate donations, voluntary payroll deductions and other activities Canplas and its employees support the United Way of Greater Simcoe County (UWGSC) a locally controlled, charitable organization dedicated to helping build a stronger community by improving lives and providing lasting change.United Way partners with approximately 35 local non-profit agencies to address five impact areas:

  • safe, supportive and inclusive communities
  • healthy thriving children and youth
  • strong, nurturing families
  • living with independence and dignity
  • reducing the cycles associated with poverty and abuse.
Royal Victoria Hospital
On May 5, 2015 Royal Victoria Hospital officially launched the Hearts & Minds a campaign to raise $25 million for five areas of priority for health care:

  • Advanced cardiac care
  • Child and youth mental health services
  • Women’s cancer services
  • Equipment
  • Teaching and Research

Canplas pledged to the Hearts & Minds campaign $50,000.  In November 2018 they reached their goal and donated the final $8,186.00 to complete the $50,000 pledge.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada
Canplas supports the local Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada agency through support of their Bowl for Kids Sake fundraising program and their In School Mentoring program.Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) is the leading child and youth serving organization providing mentoring programs across the country. Providing support to more than 1000 Canadian communities, over 128 local agencies offer the service that the organization was founded on: One-to-One Matching. Men and women (age 18 or older) give of their time to become a mentor to a young person who can greatly benefit from having an adult role model to look up to.
